We had a lovely stay in a charming pub next to the river, where the atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. The breakfast featured a wide selection, including high-quality ingredients, and we especially enjoyed the personal touch of a complimentary local beer in our room. the low ceilings in our room made it a bit challenging, especially for someone tall like me.

Perfect stay for a wedding

We stayed for a night while attending a wedding nearby. The early check-in was super helpful! Our room was cozy with a comfy bed and a nice walk-in shower. They even had a bottle of local beer waiting for us! Breakfast was a treat with big tasty pastries. Just wish the bar had a bit more variety.

The complimentary bottle of beer was a delightful surprise, and the lovely outdoor terrace provided a perfect setting for relaxing meals by the river.

Our double room was cozy and very clean, which was nice. The bed linen felt luxurious, and the decor was quite charming. it was on the smaller side, so might not be ideal for anyone needing a lot of space. The bathroom was modern, but using the shower dispensers was tricky—they didn't fit well in the holder.

The Stag On The River is beautifully decorated with serene, pale grey tones and charming original wooden beams, providing a peaceful atmosphere. The outdoor terrace is inviting, making it a perfect spot for seniors to relax in the sun.

Perfect for a Family Getaway

Had a great time with my family here, the staff were incredibly accommodating. The room had a nice touch with a complimentary bottle of local beer, and we were able to enjoy our meals in the room while settling our daughter for bed.

It wasn’t cheap but it was still acceptable for the experience we received.

Just a top selection for strolling in Godalming with good price-quality ratio. Dining outside in the beer garden was so relaxing. Make sure to enjoy the continental breakfast.
